Contact us about anything on this page at luis@mondayleads.co.uk.
The short version
We publish a weekly list of local building leads for trade businesses: projects councils have just approved, projects about to start on site, and homes whose public energy certificate shows they need upgrade works. The information comes from public registers. If you would rather not appear, email luis@mondayleads.co.uk and we will remove you within 7 days and keep you out of every future list.
Where the information comes from
Every UK council is required by law to publish a planning register showing who has applied to build what, and what was decided. Those registers are public and free to search. We collect from them automatically once a week. This covers both new approvals and the follow-up applications (such as condition discharges) that signal work is about to start.
We also use the national Energy Performance Certificate register, published as open data by the UK government, for homes with poor energy ratings and the improvement works the assessor recommended. EPC certificates describe properties, not people, and contain no names.
Finally, we use two public business sources: the Companies House register, for applicants that are companies, and public business listings for the contact details of planning agents, who act in a professional capacity.
We do not collect anything from social media, data brokers, or any private source, and we do not buy personal data.
What we hold
For each planning-based lead:
- The address of the property and a description of the works
- The reference number and a link to the council's own page
- The name of the applicant, as published on the register
- The name of the agent, where one acted
- Business contact details for agent firms and for company applicants, from the public sources above
- Our own inferences: a short job title, which trades might be involved, and a rough value band
For each energy-retrofit lead: the address, the energy rating, and the works and indicative cost bands listed on the public certificate. No names.
We do not hold, and will not collect, email addresses or telephone numbers for private individuals. We do not enrich individuals from any other source.
We do not copy plans, drawings or documents from council portals.
Why we are allowed to hold it, and on what basis
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR.
Our legitimate interest is connecting tradespeople with people who are likely to need building work. We have carried out a Legitimate Interest Assessment and concluded that this does not override your rights, principally because the information is already published on public registers specifically so the public can see it, because the impact on you is limited to possibly receiving post from local builders, and because you can opt out at any time and we will keep you out permanently.
You can request a copy of that assessment from luis@mondayleads.co.uk.
For subscribers, we process your name, email address and billing details to provide the service you have paid for. The lawful basis there is performance of a contract.
Who we share it with
Subscribers receive each week's list at a private link. They are trade businesses, and they agree to use it only to offer their own services and not to resell or redistribute it.
We also use these processors:
- OVHcloud (UK), which hosts our servers
- Stripe, for payments (we never see your card details)
- Our mailbox provider, for sending the weekly email
- DeepSeek, which summarises the works description. Only the council's or assessor's own description of the works is sent; names and addresses are not.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
Each week's list stays available to the subscribers who paid for that week, so it remains accessible after publication. We review holdings annually and remove anything no longer needed for the purpose. If you opt out, your entry is removed from all future lists and from the current one at the next weekly run.
Subscriber account and billing records are kept for 7 years, as UK tax law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Object to processing. Because we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time. In practice we treat any objection as an opt-out and act on it. We will not argue the point with you.
- Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Have your information erased
- Ask us to restrict how we use it
- Complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113
Email luis@mondayleads.co.uk. We respond within 7 days, and within one month at the outside, which is the statutory limit.
To opt out, you only need to tell us the address or the council reference. You do not need to give a reason.
Cookies
The public pages use no tracking or advertising cookies and no analytics that identify you.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for material changes affecting subscribers, email them.
